Contrinex now offers miniature inductive proximity switches with the world's longest
operating distance (2.5 mm) for their size.
These devices are available in diameter 4 mm and M5, in stainless-steel housings (V2A).
They can be recess mounted. Despite their tiny size, these sensors are largely compatible
with standard devices. A LED and protections against short-circuit, wire reversal and
induction are built in.
These features result in numerous advantages, e.g. increased reliability thanks to
increased distance from moving parts and therefore reduced danger of mechanical
damage. Where space is limited, they can replace larger sizes. In addition, due to the
greater mechanical tolerance, installation is considerably easier. Finally these devices
show best results for parts difficult to detect (small, narrow, non-ferrous, wires).

Contrinex now also offers synthetic optical fibers with background suppression. These
devices have a factory adjusted operating distance of 12 mm and fully potted optical parts.
These new fibers recognize differences of position and thickness down to 0.1 mm. Thanks
to glass-fibers reinforced PBTP-housings, they are suitable for even rough environments.
The lenses are scratch resistant and easy to clean. Finally, thanks to the flexible fiber,
they feature a minimum bending radius.

These new all-metal inductive proximity switches by Contrinex are especially suitable for
marine applications, due to their total resistance to corrosion by sea water. Moreover they
have a high degree of protection (IP 68 + IP 69K), which makes them suitable for all
applications above and below water, such as on ships and submarines, in harbor
installations, in locks and docks, on offshore installations and in fish processing. The
devices feature one-piece housings (including sensing face) of corrosion-resistant
stainless steel (V4A / AISI 316L / DIN 1.4435). Furthermore they offer long operating
distances on steel and aluminum. The cable version is completely pressure resistant to a
depth of 600 m / 60 bar (M18). The connection is by means of a corrosion-resistant
TPE-S cable or connector S12.

Contrinex inductive sensors for the food and pharmaceutical industries in one-piece
stainless-steel housings are distinguished by their long operating distances (for example,
M18 non-embeddable: 20 mm) and high degree of impermeability (IP 68 + IP 69K). In
addition, thanks to their one-piece housings of food-safe stainless steel (V4A / AISI 316L /
DIN 1.4435), they are highly resistant to corrosion by cleaning and disinfecting agents, as
well as by organic acids. As a result, they comfortably withstand the routine
high-pressure-jet cleaning processes commonly used in the food industry. In addition, the
cable execution is fully pressure-resistant up to 80 bar / 1,150 psi (M12), 60 bar / 850 psi
(M18) and 40 bar / 600 psi (M30) as well as being vacuum-resistant, and is thus suitable
for practically all processes likely to be met in the food industry. The devices, designed for
operating temperatures from -25 to +85°C (-13 to 185 °F), are connected via food-safe
TPE-S cables or S12 connectors.
They are especially designed for use in problem areas, such as the manufacture of dairy
products, the canning industry, beverage manufacturing and breweries, as well as
slaughterhouses, meat processing and animal farming (feeding and free-range
installations), or on food-processing machines.

Contrinex now offers a series of embeddable and non-embeddable high-temperature
switches in sizes M8 to M50. The devices have operating distances from 2 to 25 mm, and
are respectively suitable for applications up to 140°C (280°F), 150°C (300°F), 180°C
(350°F) and 230°C (440°F).
The executions for 140°C (280°F), 150°C (300°F) and 180°C (350°F) feature built-in
amplifiers. Connection by means of a 2 m silicone or Teflon cable is standard. Other cable
lengths and types are available on request.
For 230°C (440°F) types, the amplifiers are built into an M12 stainless-steel housing,
which is connected by means of a standard 3 m Teflon cable, and thus removed from the
hot area. This cable carries a pure DC, rather than a high-frequency signal, and its length
can thus be chosen freely, without having a negative influence on the switching behavior
of the device, and without the need for adjustment. Connection of the amplifier is by
means of a 2 m PUR cable.
All the usual protection functions, such as short-circuit, overload and voltage-reversal
protection are built in. Furthermore, the devices feature good protection against
environmental influences (IP 67).
